Chinese Crispy Duck Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole duck
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Pancakes, hoisin sauce, sliced cucumber, and spring onions, to serve

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Rinse the duck inside and out, then pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, Chinese five-spice powder, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Brush the duck inside and out with the sauce mixture.
  5. Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan, breast side up.
  6. Roast the duck in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown, basting with the sauce every 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the duck from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
